In my capacity as President in Canada of Acciona, a large international contractor I had the pleasure of working with Rob both as a partner and as a retained consultant on a number of large healthcare projects.

As a partner, Rob was the lead executive of our concessionnaire partner responsible for bringing together the concession and contracting teams which went on to win and deliver two PPP hospital projects in BC.

As a retained consultant Rob led the contracting JV bid team from qualification to submission on large PPP hospital projects in Ontario. In this role Rob successful managed the design process and the JV estimating effort.

At all times Rob operated to the highest professional standards and his detailed knowledge of the construction industry in Canada, the PPP sector and the design process contributed hugely to the success in each case.

Robert was originally engaged by a Condominium developer to manage the completion of the developer’s penthouse condominium in downtown Toronto.The project was close to 8 months behind schedule and moving forward with glacial speed. It soon became apparent that the main cause of the delay was the general contractor.

Given Robert’s detailed knowledge of all facets of construction, the GCwas terminated and Robert assumed the general management of the entire process including dealing with the various subcontractors affected by the termination of the GC.

Given Robert’s extensive construction knowledge and superior administrative skills,his role was expanded to include assisting the Developer with the completion of the wrap up of the construction of a 47-storey, 526 units condominium.

On many occasions, Robert put forward his views and opinions, even when contrary with others, in an honest and straightforward manner.
